The Marzadori Collection

In 2025 Maurizio Marzadori, Bolognese collector and antiquarian, founder of Freak Andò, made available to the City of Bologna a selection of toys (from 1900 to 1950) from his collection, which includes more than 600 children's furniture and as many vintage toys.

A room in the Luigi Bombicci Scientific Educational Museum has been reserved for the Marzadori collection, where the toys are displayed inside an original oak store shelf from the early twentieth century, also supplied by Marzadori, which reproduces a sort of store of the time.

The collection and many of the pieces on display have been filmed in many exhibitions around Italy, from the Triennial Museum in Milan, to the Civic Archaeological Museum of Bologna, to the Salaborsa in Bologna with the exhibition La stanza dei bambini (The Children's Room), to the Moma in New York, “guests” of the international festival Century of the Child.
