The Porticoes of girls and boys

An activity that involved a kindergarten

In recent days, the head of the Porticoes site in Bologna, architect Federica Legnani, met a group of girls and boys from the Cantalamessa kindergarten to talk about arcades and UNESCO.

The activity was carried out as part of the project A City for Everyone and for All and was promoted by teachers Katia Moretti, Ilaria Faffini, Agata Bucci, Vincenza Leone, Agnese Cristofori, Caroline Oreel, Chiara Fiorio, Maria-Luisa Sileo.

The Cantalamessa school is located near two of the most important components of the serial site - the Portico of San Luca and the Portico of the Certosa - so the arcades are an element that is part of the daily life of girls and boys, which is why the teachers have organized this activity, also involving the Porticoes office.

The girls and boys drew a stretch of plain of the Portico of San Luca along Via Saragozza, depicting it from life, while they were seated in the lawn of Villa delle Rose.

The commentary on the drawings was an opportunity to tell the story of the Porticoes, the reason why they became a world heritage and the meaning of UNESCO values.
