The Bombicci Museum reopens
With an unprecedented journey through the kingdoms of nature, toy design and contemporary art
Wednesday, February 4 at 5 p.m., the Luigi Bombicci Educational Scientific Museum in Via Sant'Isaia 20 reopens to the public with a completely renewed layout and an exhibition offering that intertwines science, ancient toys and contemporary art.
A new exhibition: childhood on display with the Marzadori Collection
The big news of this reopening is the arrival of a precious selection from the Maurizio Marzadori Collection (Freak Andò). In a suggestive setting that recreates an early twentieth century store, visitors can admire rare toys produced between 1900 and 1950: from the famous Lenci creations to the characters of the Corriere dei Piccoli, to futurist rarities and design pieces signed by artists such as Antonio Rubino.
Art City Bologna 2026: the Arianna Pace exhibition
On the occasion of Art City 2026, the Museum hosts Arianna Pace's solo exhibition: Things don't speak because they don't know what to do with language, curated by Artierranti and Bianca Basile.
The exhibition unfolds between the Bombicci Museum and the Officina Artierranti (via Sant'Isaia 56/A), creating a bridge between the scientific findings of the nineteenth century and the art of today. Pace's works invite a reinterpretation of nature and objects, transforming the museum into a place of reflection on time and on the gaze.
Children's workshop: Dream Drawer
There will be plenty of opportunities for children to test themselves with creativity: Sunday, February 15, from 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm, the Museum will host Dream Drawer, a special workshop conducted by the artist Arianna Pace together with “Untitled.”
The activity is designed for boys and girls aged 6 to 11 and is inspired by the unique structure of the Bombicci Museum: starting from Luigi Bombicci's famous “educational drawers”, participants will explore the border between the natural world and imagination.
