Summer Services 2025: all the news in view of the opening of registrations for Summer Camps

Also for the summer of 2025, the Municipality of Bologna has prepared a wide range of opportunities for families for the period of suspension of educational and school activities, from June to September.
The model provides a mixed offer of summer services agreed with the Municipality of Bologna:

• At the nursery in the month of July: three weeks in July for girls and boys already enrolled in municipal services or in agreement/concession;
• Summer centers for the 3-14 age group run by managers identified with public procedures and included in a specific list;
• Schools open all year round in lower secondary schools for the 11-14 age group;
• Summer stays, short weekly summer stays aimed at boys and girls aged between 14 and 17;
• Summer opportunities aimed at boys/girls with disabilities attending upper secondary schools.

Open Day

All the offers available for the summer period (Summer Camps, Schools open all year round, summer stays, summer opportunities for boys and girls with disabilities aged 14 to 19) will be presented to the city and families during an open day scheduled for Saturday 12 April in Piazza Lucio Dalla: during the day, each summer service manager will have the opportunity to present their educational project and families will be able to receive all the information necessary for registration and to submit the application for a contribution.

Application for a contribution

From 3 to 24 April, for those with an ISEE of up to 35,000 euros, it will be possible to submit an application for a contribution to participate in the Summer Camps and Schools open all year round: the contribution for participation in summer activities in the period June-September 2025 is equal to 100 euros per week, for a maximum of 300 euros overall for each participant.

How to register for Summer Camps

As always, applications for registration for Summer Camps must be submitted online only by connecting to the dedicated portal on Iperbole with your Spid credentials.
Starting this year, in order to minimize the inconvenience for families during registration, some technological innovations have been introduced, dividing registration into two different phases.

First phase: filling out and sending the application for registration for Summer Camps

From April 14 to 28, it will be possible to submit an online application for registration for Summer Camps affiliated with the Municipality for those aged 3 to 14 (99 Summer Camps of 41 managers): there will therefore be more time to dedicate to registration and a single period for all age groups.
Only one application can be sent for each son or daughter: any subsequent applications for registration, even if sent within the opening terms of the call, will be cancelled.
It will be possible to choose up to two alternative Summer Camps for each shift of attendance. The application can only be modified in the draft version: after the final submission, no further changes can be made.
After submitting the application, the interested party will receive a link and an applicant code via email, which will be used for confirmation in the next phase, scheduled from May 5 to 9.
For all applications for registration of children belonging to the same household, a single applicant code will be issued.
In your Personal Area of ​​Iperbole, you will always be able to view a copy of the application submitted and your applicant code.
Sending the application for registration in this first phase does not give any priority or precedence on the order of acceptance of the applications submitted: the applications for admission to the Summer Camps will be ordered based on the date and time of submission, only in the next phase, that of confirmation of the application, which must take place from May 5 to 9.

Second phase: confirmation of the application for enrollment in the Summer Camps

From May 5th to 9th, you will need to confirm your enrollment: to do so, you will need to connect to the link received by email when you sent your application and enter the applicant code. The link will take you to a page, hosted in a dedicated Cloud, created specifically to manage confirmations of enrollment applications. Confirmation of the application will be quick with two simple clicks.
In the case of multiple applications that refer to the same demographic group, the applicant code will be associated with the same time and the same sending date for all the enrollment applications of the same demographic group. If the previously sent enrollment application is not confirmed between May 5th and 9th, the request will not be completed and it will not be possible to access the Summer Camps.
Boys and girls with disabilities always have priority: it is however necessary to enroll during the opening period of the call to request educational support and facilitate the planning of resources useful for the implementation of the inclusion project.

Assignments and further applications for enrollment
The first assignments of the Summer Centers will be from May 20 to 22.
Starting from May 23, it will be possible to submit further applications for enrollment in the Summer Centers and even those who are not residents of the Municipality of Bologna will be able to apply: in this phase, applications can only be submitted for places that may be available, indicating only one preference for each week chosen.

Schools open all year round

The Municipality of Bologna officially launches the Schools open all year round project, an important opportunity for boys and girls (11-14 years old) to experience middle school in an engaging and innovative way, during the summer but also throughout the school year, to which all 22 comprehensive institutes of the city of Bologna adhere.
The activities of Schools open all year round are reserved for boys and girls who attend middle schools in the city (11-14 years old) and for the summer of 2025 they will take place from June 9 to July 18. Some institutes will also offer activities in September, from September 1st to 12th. The offers vary from a minimum of two weeks to several weeks per school; the calendars are different and it will be possible to consult the specific offer directly on the school websites. During the summer of 2025, ample space will be dedicated to recreational activities, with rich offers of excursions in the area, sports practices, music and theater workshops, trips even out of town, cinema, theater, role-playing games, swimming pool and much more! Some workshops are created thanks to the collaboration with the Civic Museums Sector, the Libraries and Cultural Welfare Sector and the Sports Sector.
Registrations can be made directly at the school attended, from April 14th to May 9th: a total of 2820 places are available, divided into weekly shifts.

Summer stays

This summer the first experiment of weekly summer stays aimed at boys and girls aged between 14 and 17 who have attended at least the first year of secondary school is starting. The stays are offered by travel agencies specialized in the sector that employ educational personnel to carry out the activities at the proposed destinations.
The offer, limited to those who have joined in this first experimental edition, will be published on the website of the Municipality of Bologna at the same time as that of the Summer Centers, on a dedicated page. To facilitate the participation of boys and girls, families will be able to apply for a contribution by accessing the specific call online that will be published at the same time as the publication of the stays. The deadline for registrations will be May 9.

Inclusion

The experimentation of the inclusion model for children with disabilities is confirmed, structured to encourage the construction of a welcoming context, in which the main objective is the well-being of the child in the context of peer relationships and with adults.
The model provides for a team of educators who collaborate with that of the summer center manager, the qualification of the welcome, the assignment of a total number of weekly hours assigned in compliance with the individual needs identified.
In order to qualify the offer of the inclusion project, the research/action activity already started with the University of Bologna is also confirmed for the summer of 2025, which includes the training of educational teams in the months preceding the start of the Summer Centers with moments of comparison during the summer and moments of subsequent training in the autumn and spring period useful for strengthening the inclusion model.
It is also confirmed the possibility of attending, with the provision of a specific contribution, also qualified private Summer Centers, not included in the municipal list, whose educational project is consistent with the offer of the Municipality of Bologna.

Proposals for girls and boys aged 14-19 with disabilities

Also for the summer of 2025 the Municipality of Bologna proposes a list of managers who propose 14/19 activities for boys/girls with disabilities. They will be published on the website of the Municipality of Bologna at the same time as the offer of the Summer Centers and stays around mid-April. Resident families will be able to request a contribution for three weeks of attendance at a center even if it is located outside the municipal territory.

At the nursery in the month of July

As every year, also for the summer of 2025 the Municipality of Bologna offers the possibility to girls and boys already enrolled in municipal services or in agreement/concession to attend nursery schools also during the month of July. Applications must be submitted online to attend the three weeks following the closure of the nursery schools.

Resources

Between resources from the Emilia-Romagna Region and municipal resources, for the summer of 2025, 1,419,171 euros of contributions will be allocated to support the payment of registrations for summer services by families, of which 520,000 euros financed with municipal resources and 899,171 euros financed with regional resources.
For the inclusion of girls and boys with disabilities, in addition to 1,093,278.21 euros of municipal resources, 400 thousand euros of PN+ Funds will also be used.
Also with PN+ Funds, the summer activities of Schools open all year round in lower secondary schools will be financed.
