What do we do
Education, Instruction and New Generations Area of the Municipality of Bologna:
- support for the development and qualification policies of the integrated city education and training system from 0 to 18 years of age, liaising with the public bodies responsible for governing local school policies, with school autonomies and with all other subjects operating in the field of education and training;
- development and qualification of the integrated system of services for children (0-6 years), also through exchanges and comparisons promoted within the metropolitan territorial pedagogical coordination functions of the capital municipalities;
- direct management of nursery schools and educational services for children (nurseries, child and family centres, local educational services);
- coordination of organizational processes transversal to the Area and Neighborhoods, aimed at the coordinated and integrated management of the service system;
- access to education and promotion of equal training and educational opportunities: organization of the school network and planning of the training offer of the first cycle of education, coordination of support services for the school system, of the right to study and qualification of the school and extra-scholastic networking with other training and educational institutions (Bologna educational and children's city project);
- planning of the offer of the integrated system of educational services and other educational opportunities for early childhood and nursery schools and management of the system of agreements. Authorizations for the operation and accreditation of private educational services;
- development of the quality of meals in schools and educational services and promotion of food education initiatives. Controls on the production and administration of meals in nurseries and schools; management of the school lunch contract;
- collaboration with the competent technical structures for the preparation of the qualification and modernization plan for school buildings;
- development and implementation of intercultural integration projects in and outside of school, management of documentation for the qualification of teaching and educational methods, organization of training initiatives aimed at service and school staff;
- planning, programming and promotion of initiatives, services and opportunities to support policies aimed at adolescents and young people. Management of educational services and coordination of projects and initiatives in collaboration with neighbourhoods, with other municipal sectors, with schools and with the various entities that carry out and promote activities in this area, according to an integrated programming and networking approach and community;
- promotion of the technical and scientific training sector, implementation of programs and actions aimed at developing the relationship between institutions, training agencies, the economic world and the territory, also through the promotion of paths for transversal skills and orientation, to enhance innovation , knowledge and know-how, as elements of growth, work success, development of the city's human capital.
