Free hip hop dance courses and workshops for girls and boys from 7 to 14 years old

The eighth edition of DanCer, the youth inclusion project for boys and girls from 7 to 14 years old, starts in October.

What is it?

DanCer is a project dedicated to children who love to dance and be in the company of new friends.
It offers free hip hop courses taught by professional teachers who, with their talent and their stories, will inspire students.

Who is it for?

DanCer is aimed at boys and girls between 7 and 14 years old:

  • courses for primary schools take place during curricular hours in schools in Bologna;
  • courses for first grade secondary schools are open to everyone, subject to availability of places.

Why hip hop?

Dance is a universal language and hip hop allows you to try your hand at fun choreography even after a few lessons.
Dancing together you meet new friends and you feel part of a group, even more important after two years of isolation.

Duration and period

The eighth edition of DanCer starts in autumn 2025 until spring 2026, following the school calendar.

Where will the lessons take place?

DanCer involves five districts of the city of Bologna: Borgo Panigale — Reno, Navile, Porto-Saragozza, San Donato — San Vitale and Savena. The lessons are weekly and take place in the gyms of the Comprehensive Institutes 14 (Borgo Reno) 5 (Navile), 17 and 18 (Porto-Saragozza), 9 (Savena) and 7 (San Donato-San Vitale).

DanCer is a Labor Artis ETS project co-funded by the European Union through the PN Metro plus 2021-2027, in collaboration with the Department of Education and New Generations of the City of Bologna and with the support of the six city districts.
