The Digital Emotions Map

cover of The Digital Emotions Map

A journey through screens and feelings, to be taken together. For boys and girls from 3 to 7 years old

What is it

How do we feel when we play a video game? When does someone photograph us? Or when we try to talk to an adult looking at the phone?
The Digital Emotions Map transforms these daily experiences into a fantastic landscape: seven regions to explore to give a name to what we feel, invent stories and hear different points of view.
An illustrated tool to print and use in the family, at school or in educational settings, together with an adult. Adults are also part of the journey: their emotions and digital habits are an opportunity to get to know each other better.

The Seven Regions

From the Video Game Tunnel, where it's so hard to stop, to the Forest of Silence, where you can discover what surrounds us when the screens rest.
Along the way, you will encounter the River of Memories, the Coast of Sharing, the Cave of Solitude, the City of Confusion and the Glade of Secrets. Every place opens up a conversation: about the pleasure of sharing, about the desire for company, about distractions or about what we prefer to keep to ourselves.

How do you use

Choose a location

Look at the map and start from a detail that intrigues the child. There is no mandatory route: you can explore even a single region.

Leave room for stories

What's going on here? How does this character feel? Has anything like this ever happened to you? In the guide you will find questions to start with: these are ideas to choose freely, without right or wrong answers.

Give shape to the journey

At the end, propose a drawing or a story: the child can modify a place on the map or invent a new one. Let him tell it and choose how much to share.
You can return to the map several times: the same place can give birth to different stories each time.

Let the journey begin!
