A path of reciprocity

The Erasmus+ mobility in Aracena (Spain) marked the completion of a path of reciprocity that began with the reception of Spanish colleagues and two groups of 5-year-old girls and boys and their families at the Polo Grosso (April 2024) and the Polo Rodari (May 2025) of the Municipality of Bologna.

The Bolognese group, formed by a pedagogue, two educators and a teacher, had a spontaneous and harmonious experience. Daily coexistence has fostered a constant exchange, leading us to reflect on the effectiveness of residential training as a tool for consolidating work groups.

The experience offered stimuli on the school's ability to create systemic connections. The Aracena Institute excels in carrying out projects that link the educational service to the local, regional and international territory.

The reception given to the Bolognese group has highlighted advanced skills in managing European exchanges, the result of experience gained over the years.
The immersion in the Spanish cultural and social context has allowed us to experience the authenticity of European citizenship, facilitated by a profound comparison between the different regulatory and regulatory frameworks that affect child services.

Job shadowing in Aracena was an exercise in pedagogical decentralization. Observing the work of others with an open and critical eye allowed the participants to take stock of their educational trajectories, reading the Spanish context both in relation to their own and in its specific historical and social autonomy.

The knowledge of the school's history, combined with cultural visits and an understanding of the local economy, has provided the keys to understanding the institute's Plan of Action and its vision for future improvement.

This experience confirms that Erasmus+ mobility is not just a physical journey, but a process of mutual nourishment between theory, reflection and practice, capable of “opening the mind and the heart” and of having a positive impact on the daily quality of educational services.
